The sixth edition of Kino Guarimba took place in Amantea (CS) from 10 to 21 September 2022. It involved 50 filmmakers, technicians and actors from 20 different countries, who met in Calabria and conceived, produced, shot and edited 31 short films in 12 days.
This was a special edition: thanks to the support of the European Cultural Foundation, we offered ten scholarships to ten Ukrainian artists victims of the Russian invasion, covering their participation fee, travel, accommodation and food expenses.
We created a safe space for discussion and sharing where the participants were able to live and work together, between aggregation and training events, which gave life to a temporary community rich in diversity and beauty.
The result of this process is these 31 short films, which represent a mosaic composed of the perspectives of people from different cultures, who captured the places, characters and traditions of Amantea and presented them to the community during the final screening.
